Without a doubt my highest profile client. Ever. It’s the U.S. Navy for gosh sakes! And they wanted to hire me to redesign their UX/UI for an intranet-based secure Web application that is used by active servicemen/women for Weapons Assessment in Warfare. The big challenge for me was clearance. No, I don’t have a criminal record, it’s just that it would’ve taken six months for me to obtain clearance to work on site. Meaning, I had to design for the most amount of data I’ve ever designed for based on a couple of meetings since I could only access the web app on site. I not only enhanced the UX/UI for the product, but kicked it out of the stone-ages and into a more modern/clean look/feel. Mission accomplished!

Jimmy Eat World

So one of my favorite bands holds a design contest asking fans to submit a MySpace design for the band based on their (then) new album “Chase This Light”. The band released the original artwork assets and asked fans to go to town. I nonchalantly whipped up this mock and submitted a flattened JPG to their blog saying here’s what I came up with and no way I’m coding this without approval. Got an email from Interscope Records rep saying the band loved my design the best which made me the grand winner. I quickly coded this profile into the MySpace platform which was my first time coding an out-of-the-box MySpace layout and the profile launched! I got a bunch of cool signed shwag from the band, and my design ended up being featured for over a year. They even let me put my “created by” attribution at the bottom to which I was hit up from tons of indie bands praising my work and wanting to hire me to create their space…for free.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I had the privilege of designing and developing the brand community for this film. One great perk of this project was that I’ve loved Wolverine since I was a kid (used to draw him all the time in detention), and another is that this was a game changer for MySpace International. This was the first brand community that used our CMS system to geo-target five different countries where the content (e.g. language, content, offerings) changed based on IP region.

Can you do a FB landing page? Sure. Have you yet? Nope. I love exploring new territory and was excited when this one presented itself. PJS needed a FB landing page that would help them brand their company on this high-traffic social network to new potential users. They also needed an opt-in form built to help new users register quickly and easily so they can start taking advantage of the company’s unique services. I also included a “Share” function which would post the page as a status on FB, as well as links to Twitter and YouTube.

Sherri is an amazing songstress, woman of God and dear friend. Her music ministry has reached thousands and thousands throughout the years on an international scale. I’m a longtime fan myself from the beginning, so what a pleasure it was when Sherri asked me to help her tap into the social media space so she could stay in contact with her friends/fans in a much more efficient manner. I setup a Twitter account for her and layed-out this skin (based on her brilliantly crafted “She Looks To The Sky” album artwork”. I also took the same look/feel and adapted it to the YouTube skin.

This design concept was inspired by a lyric to our rockin’ song “My Fleeting Habit”. On a day I was supposed to be working, this visual concept of a brain with reversed-out prison bars running through it hit me like a ton of bricks and I had no other choice but to execute it immediately. Creativity beckons…”The mind’s a prison cell”.
